Yea!!! I got the BLM internship and I'll be going to Wyoming for the next 5 months! It's going to be weird and hot, but I'll be doing field work and getting paid for it!

Happy Birthday to me! [Nov. 17th, 2008|11:02 pm]
It's my birthday! 27 years old. I don't want to dwell on the unpleasant facts of being a year older and no further along in my life, but rather, I want to say "Hey ya!" Happy Birthday me!

Whoopee!

Nano [Nov. 4th, 2007|10:12 pm]
Wow, my nano sucks. I'm really hoping to just get through with it, and maybe it will suck less after revising. Oh, well.

Apparently I am clean for all my autoimmune blood tests. Which is good really, but it means I still don't have any explanations for the aches and pains etc. LEM-Oh.

would you do my homework for me? It is due tomorrow, but it is really easy. Please? It is my final. It's worth a bunch of points and it is so stupid and I have no interest in doing it.

I almost got bitten by a dog today. He tore a small hole in my shirt. Just a reminder to everyone else, approaching a dog you don't know is probably not a good idea.

I wanted to get close enough to see if he had a tag. He didn't, but he is obviously a pet, well groomed etc. He was super big! Like almost mastiff big with a drooly mouth. It looked quite a bit like a mastiff actually, but much thinner around the hips. I wonder what kind of dog he is? He was quite obviously male, and unneutered. Probably that makes it an even worse idea to approach him.

I think the problem was that I may have looked him in the eye briefly. You aren't supposed to do that either, but it was a mistake. Ah well. No harm done. I hope he gets home alright.

I just want to say that I hate it when I don't realize that I am not signed in and I think "Geeze, why the hell isn't anyone updating!"

Jellyman kelly by James Taylor

Here's a song about jellyman kelly,
He loves jelly the most.
Ah, but most of all,
Jellyman kelly loves jelly on toast.

And here's the part about jenny mulhenny,
She's a fireman's daughter.
Yeah, but most of all,
Jenny mulhenny loves to boil hot water

Jenny put the kettle on, jellyman kelly,
Can he come home, jenny, can he come?
Jenny put the kettle on, jellyman kelly,
Can he come home, jenny, can he come?

Chorus:
Oh, can he come home, jenny,
Can he come home, jenny can he come?
Oh, can he come home, jenny
Can he come home, jenny, can he come?

Yada yada yada voo doo papa
Yodely doo
Da voody doo doo doo
Yaka yaka yaka yaka hum hon no
(repeat chorus)
That's the story about jellyman kelly-he still loves jelly!
And yes and maybe someday you and me, friend,
We can have tea with him!
(repeat chorus)

poems [Sep. 25th, 2005|08:27 pm]
I’M going out to clean the pasture spring;
I’ll only stop to rake the leaves away
(And wait to watch the water clear, I may):
I sha’n’t be gone long.—You come too.

I’m going out to fetch the little calf 5
That’s standing by the mother. It’s so young,
It totters when she licks it with her tongue.
I sha’n’t be gone long.—You come too.

The pasture by Robert Frost.

poems [Sep. 25th, 2005|07:52 pm]
'Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.

"Beware the Jabberwock, my son!
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun
The frumious Bandersnatch!"

He took his vorpal sword in hand:
Long time the manxome foe he sought-
So rested he by the Tumtum tree,
And stood awhile in thought.

And, as in uffish thought he stood,
The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame,
Came whiffing through the tugey wood,
And burbled as it came!

One, two! One, two! And through and through
The vorpal blade went snicker-snack!
He left it dead, and with its head
He went galumphing back.

"And hast thou slain the Jaberwock?
Come to my arms, my beamish boy!
O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!"
He chortled in his joy.

'Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did grye and gimble in the wabe:
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe

Jaberwocky by Lewis Carroll.

I love poems [Sep. 25th, 2005|07:50 pm]
I will be the gladdest thing
Under the sun!
I will touch a hundred flowers
And not pick one.

I will look at cliffs and clouds
With quiet eyes,
Watch the wind bow down the grass,
And the grass rise.

And when lights begin to show
Up from the town,
I will mark which must be mine,
And then start down!

Afternoon on a hill, by Edna deVincent Millay
